Our Story - هل من نصير ينصرنا
Fourteen centuries ago, a man stood on the plains of Karbala, which was strewn with the martyred bodies of his children, brother, kinsmen and loyal companions. He was surrounded by the army of the Ummayad tyrant Yazid bin Muawiya, numbering in excess of 30,000 men and horses and made up entirely of blood-thirsty despots. That day was the Day of Ashura!

Labaik Ya Hussain - (I am here, O Hussain)....Maukib Imam Hassan Bin Ali (a.s.) was formed during Arbaeen 2014.
Maukib Imam Hassan first started operating out of hotel lobbies based in the Holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. We also involved ourselves with various local Maukabs in the 2 Holy Cities volunteering our services and resources. We would provide pilgrims with assistance and food parcels during their journey to Karbala or during their stay in either Najaf or Karbala. We started off with a very small group of just 5 volunteers.
During the mourning period of Arbaeen in 2014, we joined with pilgrims from Kuwait who were also running a similar service in Karbala. We started serving hot meals from outside Hotel Jarash on the main Bab Baghdad road in Karbala.
Later on we would identify a location in Karbala to set up our Maukib permanently. We were then fortunate to meet a small group of volunteers from Baghdad, who were providing services to the pilgrims from outside Hotel Najmet Jarash. We agreed to join hands with them and registered Maukib Imam Hassan Bin Ali (a.s.), with the offices of Ataba Abbasiya in Karbala.
We commenced our first service outside Hotel Najmet Jarash during Arbaeen 2014, which was run parallel to the Maukib set-up with the Kuwaiti brothers outside Jarash Hotel.
Through the years, we have increased our services to the pilgrims and as word spread, our team of volunteers gradually increased from our humble beginning of 5 volunteers in 2014 to reach a strength of 80+ volunteers from all across the world, during Arbaeen 2019.
You will find us permanently based outside Hotel Najmet Jarash opposite the Iraqi army base on Bab Baghdad road in Karbala.
