Hi my name is Sumayya
On Saturday 19th August my little sister and I will be participating in a walkathon organised by Stanmore Jafferys in support of WF-AID's Ali Asghar Water Appeal, whose primary purpose is geared towards making this world a better place through our love of sports. There is no better way to making a difference together than to help raise funds for WF-AIDs life changing projects through your donations and fundraising.
All donations collected as part of this campaign will be dedicated to supporting 3 projects where is a desperate need for water solutions:
1. Gaza Water Truck and Water Tanks – 97% of the water in Gaza is unsafe, resulting in diseases like cholera, Hepatitis A, typhoid and polio. Beit Lahia (north Gaza) lacks the infrastructure and local support, making access to clean water difficult. This project involves obtaining a water truck and 200 water tanks to help 1400 individuals a day.
2. Tanzania Borewell – To address the water needs of a community in Tanga that has been economically neglected, this project will provide 5 borewells to 5 villages to support 20,000 people a day as. The water will also be connected to other infrastructure such as schools, health etc to provide a clean supply of water
3. Pakistan Sanitation Project – donations will support the construction of 8 washrooms in impoverished areas of Punjab and KPK provinces
