With the start of the ceasefire, we at Zayir UK have revised our action plan to address the evolving needs of families in Lebanon.
Our mission is to provide maximum support as they work to rebuild their lives.
This plan is informed by extensive discussions with local authorities, community leaders, shelter leads, and medical facility representatives in Lebanon.
To address these urgent and ongoing needs, we have developed a comprehensive action plan that aims to provide both immediate relief and long-term support, ensuring families can rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
1. Microgrants for Families:
- Providing financial assistance to help families rebuild their lives and regain stability.
2. Urgent Winter Relief Supplies:
- Distributing blankets, heaters, and fuel to help families survive the harsh winter.
3. Psychological Support:
- Organizing psychological rebah workshops for children and adults to address trauma and promote mental health recovery.
4. Medical Assistance:
- We will continue to offer grants to cover costs of urgent medical cases.
- Providing free medication for chronic and acute illnesses.
- Conducting educational workshops on reducing disease transmission.
- Launching a head lice treatment campaign.
- Rebuilding the Zayir Pharmacy for community access to essential supplies.
- Hosting free health check-up days by the Zayir Medical team consisting of doctor, nurses and pharmacists
5. Education Support:
- Back to School Campaign: Distributing school supplies and funding school & university tuition fees to help students return to learning.
5. Essential Supplies Distribution - 7 Containers from London and Canada
Since October 2024, we have been running several collection campaigns across the UK and Canada to gather essential donated items for families in Lebanon.
As a result of these efforts, between December 2024 and February 2025, we will deliver 7 shipmenet containers filled with critical supplies for immediate distribution. These include:
- Infant formula, nappies, and essentials.
- Blankets, winter clothes, and heating supplies.
- Medical equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, hospital beds).
- Medication and Medical kits
- Hygiene kits
6. Orphan Support Programme:
Continuing to support our registered orphans and actively expanding efforts to sponsor new orphans.
We also hope to release our Orphan’s Sponsorship Campaign in the near future
