Siddika’s half marathon for AAWA

For those who know me, it's no secret that I’ve never enjoyed walking long distances, let alone running. So, when a friend asked me to sign up for the London Half Marathon, I knew it was time to push myself out of my comfort zone and take on a new challenge.

At first, the idea seemed daunting. I had never run more than 5K before. But with the unwavering support of the SJ ladies and my family, I embarked on this journey and In just a few short weeks I went from struggling with 5K to confidently running 14K.

Training for the Big Half Marathon in September has been a transformative experience. Every run is a testament to how far I've come, both physically and mentally. It’s not just about crossing the finish line; it’s about the journey and the incredible support I've received along the way.

I am dedicating this run to a cause that is very dear to my heart. The AAWA (Ali Asgher Water Appeal) supports projects in the most deprived areas of the world, providing safe water to the most vulnerable. Access to clean, safe water is a basic human right, and I firmly believe that we can make a significant difference.
