Lebanon, a country grappling with a relentless economic, political, and social crisis, has the distinction of accommodating the highest number of refugees per capita worldwide. As we enter the fourth year of this dire situation, over 82% of the population endures the harsh reality of multidimensional poverty, a staggering increase of nearly double since 2019 (ESCWA 2021).
To make a tangible impact on the lives of those affected by the Beirut explosion, the financial catastrophe, and the widespread poverty, myself and my sister are embarking on a challenging journey to conquer South Wales' highest peak. By participating in this fundraising hike, we to gather the necessary resources to support the essential work being done to uplift the communities in Lebanon.
