IFTA appreciates the value of clean water and aims to guarantee the supply of clean drinking water through RO plants.
We have started this drinking water project in the vicinity of our existing area of welfare work in Orangi Town. Orangi town has a population of approximately 2.5 million although government records report 700,000 inhabitants. There are several ethnic groups in Orangi Town. We are also planning on expanding to another area; Ghoram Goth.
Currently, there are 988,250 people in 197,650 families are being served under this project. The latest amount spent on this project is PKR 3,261,225.
For the Clean drinking water project, IWT follows UDP's Sustainable Development Goal #6, "CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION" which is to Ensure Availability and Sustainable Management of Water and Sanitation for all.
