Dar ul Muslimeen Orphanage was established in 1995, in Morogoro, Tanzania. It is currently running with over 50 needy orphans aged 3 years and above. The older ones who have left the orphanage are independent and have their own families.
Our aim is to provide the orphaned children with modern secular education and instil good morals with a little religious background as taught by Prophet Muhammad [s.a.w.] and his Family. We hope to restore faith and hope in the lives of these neglected & abandoned children; and an opportunity of a happy childhood, free from a poverty-stricken life
The boys wing has 3 dormitories and at the moment houses 30 young boys while the girls home has 18 girls, aged 3 to 8 years. All children attend the Nguzo Primary School and are provided with their basic needs such as nutritious meals, medical care, clothing, and educational needs.
While living at the orphanage, the children are provided with education from nursery up to end of primary level. All the children attend English Medium Primary Schools and thereafter go to Boarding School at Wipahs for their O and A level studies. Those who are bright and succeed with first and second division, go for further studies to universities and colleges. Others go for courses in Accounts, Arts and VETA (vocational training).
Most of our children are average performers in school. We feel that given the right environment, equipment and an educated coordinator, most of them can be good achievers.
Madrassah classes are held in the afternoon for the younger children while the older ones have their classes after the evening prayers at 8 pm. Afternoon Tuition at the orphanage is available for children as reinforcement.
The cost of Education of one child a year is approximately £400 including fees, stationery, uniform and tuition.
