The devastating Cianjur earthquake hit a large part of the Islamic school Sabilunnajah Al Bariyah building in Cugenang Village, Cianjur which badly collapsed and also damaged various religious items, the Quran and books belonging to tahfiz students. When the earthquake hit, they tried to save whatever things they could carry. But there wasn't much they could save. Study activities could not be carried out because the buildings collapsed and praying equipment were also damaged by the earthquakes.
The tahfiz students who study and live in the Islamic schools come from poor families and some of them are orphans. The family's financial limitations forced them to survive with makeshift equipment. Worn, smelly worship equipment, they continue to use it for prayers and daily worship. It's not that they don't want to replace it with a new one but it depends on their financial condition.
