السلام عليكم ورحمة وبركاته
On the 16th day of the holy month of Ramadan, schools in a predominantly Shia province of Afghanistan, Dasht-i-Barchi, were attacked, killing 35 and injuring 70.
The Abdul Rahim Shaheed High School was hit by 3 explosions and shortly after, Mumtaz Education Facility was also attacked.
It is unthinkable that in this holy month, children seeking to gain an education to better their lives and promote development within their communities could be attacked so violently and senselessly.
The Zahra Trust has been working in Afghanistan for over a decade, providing critical humanitarian relief and implementing long-term development programmes to serve those most in need. With local teams on the ground, we are expertly placed to deliver aid in some of the hardest to reach and most precarious regions of Afghanistan, reaching some of the most isolated communities in the country.
Our teams attended the scene and are conducting rapid needs assessments to respond with the required aid and assistance.
We need your help to provide urgent support to those injured and affected as well as their immediate families. This can include anything from medical treatment, food aid, water aid, shelter or clothing.
Please pray for Afghanistan and for all our brothers and sisters under attack and less fortunate than ourselves this Ramadan.
