Renovate 14 Mosques

Did you know that the word “masjid” has been repeated in the Holy Quran 28 times? - 15 times to refer to masjid-al-haraam in Mecca, - 1 time referring to masjid-al-aqsa in Palestine - 1 mention of masjid-dhiraar which was used by munafiqun to plot against the prophet saw, - and 11 times talking about masajid in general. مَا کَانَ لِلْمُشْرِکِینَ أَن یَعْمُرُواْ مَسَاجِدَ الله شَاهِدِینَ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ بِالْکُفْرِ أُوْلَئِکَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ وَفِی النَّارِ هُمْ خَالِدُونَ إِنَّمَا یَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللّهِ وَالْیَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَى الزَّکَاةَ وَلَمْ یَخْشَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ فَعَسَى أُوْلَئِکَ أَن یَکُونُواْ مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِینَ Mushrikin can never build a masjid while they witness kufr in their hearts, their deeds are futile and they will forever remain in hell. Only the ones who believe in Allah and the day of judgement, and observe prayer, and pay the zakat, and do not fear anyone but Allah swt can build or revive a masjid, and they have a chance to be guided. (Surah Tawba 17-18) من اسرج فى مسجد سراجا لم تزل الملائکة و حملة العرش یستغفرون له ما دام فى ذلک المسجد ضوئه The prophet saw says “whoever lights up a lamp in a masjid, the angels and carriers of the throne will not stop doing istiqfaar for them until that lamp is lighting up the masjid”. (Wasa'el-ul-Shia v. 3 p. 513) And we’ve gathered to do just that. We are identifying 14 masjids that need renovation, improvements and or development and spending $1,000 on each. We are doing this in poor neighbourhoods in the Middle East and Africa where there is a greater need, and where helping a renovation project with $1000 will go a long way. We will rebuild broken roofs, refurbish washrooms and wudhu areas, create kitchens for matam, buy carpets for our brothers and sisters who are praying on bare ground, and many other lasting changes that will keep those angels and throne carriers busy for you :)
