I am running my first ever marathon.
And because 42.2km of sweating, wheezing, and questioning my life decisions felt too easy, I am doing it to raise money for something that actually matters: education for orphans in Tanzania. I am originally from Tanzania and I have seen how brutally simple educational inequality can be. There are children there with huge potential - bright, curious, hilarious, brilliant - who miss out on school because they have lost their parents and don’t have the support every child deserves. When education disappears, so does opportunity. And that is the cycle I want to help break. £350 is the total one full year of schooling for one child.
That covers:
• Tuition fees
• School uniform
• Books and stationery
• Remedial classes for extra support
In other words: you are not just paying for a desk and a notebook. You are giving a child confidence, stability, and a future they can actually shape - not one that’s shaped for them. So if you can donate - whether it’s the price of a coffee, a plate of croissant, or a heroic chunk towards a full year of schooling - I would be genuinely grateful. You will be transforming my marathon suffering (and trust me, there will be suffering) into something meaningful, lasting, and life-changing for a child.
Thank you for supporting me and for giving my very questionable pacing a purpose!
