18 months ago I took up running to keep myself sane through my final year of university. Last September I completed the Big Half Marathon in just under 2 hours. While running races was never the plan, I guess I can be called crazy for signing up to the famous 42K London marathon.
Despite all the injuries along the way, this one is the most special, not because of its intensity but as most of you may know, I was born and raised in Tanzania, the country I call home.
In the city of Morogoro, Tanzania, 50 resilient children under the care of the Darul Muslimeen Orphanage are working to overcome a background of extreme poverty. For these students, whose families often struggle to provide even one meal a day, education represents the only path toward a stable future.
We are seeking sponsors for the 2026 Academic Year to ensure no child is forced to drop out due to a lack of funds. A full sponsorship of £350 covers every essential need for one student:
• School & Exam Fees: Full tuition and the registration costs for mandatory academic testing.
• Uniforms: Providing the clothing and shoes required to attend school with dignity.
• Learning Materials: All necessary textbooks, notebooks, and stationery for the year.
• Academic Support: Access to remedial classes to help students who have fallen behind due to past hardships.
With great privilege comes great responsibility. What once started as a coping mechanism through university now stands as an opportunity to support a child through their career in Tanzania. Your contribution offers these children the stability they need to focus on their studies rather than their survival. By sponsoring a student, you are investing in a lifetime of opportunity.
