As many of you know, my running journey began during COVID when the SJ Running Club was founded in July 2020. At the time, I was new to running, and I remember how much I struggled during my first run. I could barely keep going, and every step felt like a challenge. However, I was fortunate to have the incredible support and guidance of my mentors, Ariff Sidik and Ali Momin, who encouraged me to keep pushing forward.
With their motivation and the camaraderie of the running community, I gradually improved. What started as a personal challenge soon turned into a passion. Over the last few years, I have completed countless half marathons, each one a testament to my progress, resilience, and the power of perseverance.
Now, I’m ready to take on my biggest challenge yet, the London Marathon 2025! On April 27, 2025, I will be running one of the world’s most iconic races, a goal I never imagined possible when I first laced up my running shoes.
I'm running to support 30 secondary school children in Tanzania to build a brighter future for these students.
These students are from a remote area of Tanzania, Kigomo, along the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Kigoma is historically one of the most underdeveloped regions in Tanzania as far as secondary education is concerned. Students are often from families who are barely able to afford one meal a day.
The existing programme run by WF-AID is making a huge difference to the lives of young people who are unable to complete their secondary education without this support. Upon completion of secondary school, these students have pursued higher education and successfully secured roles in either government or private sector roles.
The cost of sponsoring each child for the entire Academic Year 2025 is ~£800 which covers the school tuition fee, accommodation, meals, stationery, textbooks, examination fees, uniforms, sports, transportation, medical fees and a stipend for each student.
Your support will help provide a brighter future for these students!
Thank you
